How to protect your bicycle from theft with BikeRegister

BikeRegister is the national database that protects bicycles from theft and helps the police to reunite stolen bikes with their owners. When your bike is registered, you can cycle to work, school or the local shops with peace of mind, knowing it’s safe.

How does it work?

Bring your bike to one of our BikeRegister events, and we’ll register it for you for free. We’ll mark the frame of your bike with a tamper-proof QR code sticker, then add your bike details to the national police database. The database is used by every police force in the UK to search for stolen bikes. The process only takes 10 minutes and you’re ready to go.

Olympic champion and Leeds Active Travel Ambassador, Alistair Brownlee, recently launched the scheme in Leeds. Watch the video to find out how it works:

BikeRegister events

We organise BikeRegister events at schools, workplaces and community events across Leeds throughout the year. Last year our BikeRegister team supported Clean Air Day, Car Free Day and Cross Flatts Park Cycling Festival, and registered over 500 bikes! Here are some highlights.
